Thingvellir (Þingvellir) is probably the most interesting place in Iceland from historical-, geological- and aesthetical point of view. It is the first site in Iceland to receive the UNESCO's World Culture Heritage nomination, apart from being the first National Park of Iceland. Laugarvatn is a small school village on the way to Thingvellir, beautifully sited and offering a great spa called Fontana, plus an outstanding restaurant „Lindin" (The Spring). Coming from the homerun for Holt you turn left onto Rd 355, left again on Rd 37 leading you through Laugarvatn, and then right on the Rd 365 leading you to Thingvellir.
